Qualifications

Qualifications are important in helping to develop and demonstrate our skills. Professional Development provides access to a wide range of qualifications from different awarding bodies. The table below gives an overview of the qualifications availalable and who might benefit from them.

Associate of the Higher Education Academy Offered to university teachers who are not required to complete the PGCHE. There are two routes available, the Associate Teacher Programme (ATP) and the Intensive Learning and Teaching Programme (ILTP). Visit the web pages to check which is best for you.
Post Graduate Certificate in HE (PGCHE) Mandatory for most new staff in the Learning and Teaching job family.
City and Guilds, (C&G) Senior Award in Professional Practice Offered to senior support staff (level three and above) without supervisory responsibility
Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Offered to managers and supervisors with line management responsibility and for people managing projects.
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) Offered to all staff and provide a range of NVQs including Business and Administration, Customer Service, Cleaning and Support Services
